Our approach to team collaboration
We at Prestige Law are a dynamic, tech-savvy and forward-thinking team. We use a mix of apps and techniques to make sure our team stays connected, updated and on the same page no matter where they work from.
One of the most recent additions is our daily stand-up meeting (also known as a daily scrum meeting). Our litigation solicitors meet with a Partner every day at a set time to discuss what each team member achieved the previous day, what the team member’s tasks are for this day and any challenges identified. Where there is further discussion required for any matter, we schedule a separate time to tackle that.
The daily stand-up not only allows our team members to identify exactly what they have achieved and what they aim to achieve for the day, it also keeps each person accountable to both him/herself and the team at large.
The key is to keep the meetings short and concise. After all, in a busy team no one has the time to meet for hours each day! So, we make sure that we start on time at 9:10 each morning and finish before 9:30 am. We have the meeting through Zoom video call so everyone can join in, no matter if they are working from our Auckland office, our North Shore office, from their home or from another country! A short 20-minute video call with the whole team to start the day with a clear purpose in mind.
